Devilman crybaby is all over the internet and is ruling over all the anime out right now. It’s not only the hypest anime of 2018 but also the first anime to be rated this much from Netflix. Yeah Netflix has been airing few animes from last year or so but none of them gained such popularity or were even close to be called “Too good”. But this time Netflix has nailed by producing this anime and streaming it worldwide as an Original Series.

Devilman: Crybaby is an adaptation of Go Nagai’s controversial manga, infamous for its extreme content and polarizing conclusion. The original manga was published in 1972 and contains 5 Volumes & 53 chapters in total. Manga was highly acclaimed and was criticized at the same time. So taking decision to make it into anime was quite a big risk since if anything goes wrong then it might have turned into just another regular anime from Netflix which wouldn’t have been much of a surprise. But the outcome of taking such risk finally paid off since it’s become not only the best anime from Netflix ever but also the hypest anime around the anime community.

According to MAL:

Plot: Akira Fudo is informed by his best friend Ryou Asuka that the demons will revive and reclaim the world from the humans. As the humans do not stand a chance against the supernatural power of the demons, Ryou suggests fusing with a demon. Akira becomes Devilman, with the power of a demon and the heart of a human.

Plot wise anime adaptation is true to its source material. There are still few changes especially made from director’s end to improvise the overall presentation of the material and it’s been proved effective from a viewer’s perspective. Characters are well fleshed out and are very interesting. If something deserves to be special then that’s the Art of the anime which is quite raw and unpolished unlike other animes but it holds it’s own in the entire series. It might seem to be bit unusual but with that kind of a plot art couldn’t have been better than this. It justifies the characters and fighting scenes.

Overall it’s a masterpiece in terms of a complete package (i.e. plot, character, art, music etc.) and it deserves the kind of hype which it’s already gotten. We have just entered into 2018 and usually refrain ourselves from calling any anime the best of all since we’ll yet to see many animes appearing this year. But there are several reports that people has already assuming it as “Anime of the year”
