Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, aka wolf’s children is one of Mamoru Hosoda’s best movies which will let you realize that no one can beat the love of the mother for her kids even if she has to fight against the whole world struggling alone.
The entire story of this movie centers around the main female character ‘ Hana ‘ who encounters and falls in love with a “wolf man” without knowing it at first. After marrying the wolf man, Hana gives birth and raises two wolf children ,an older sister named Yuki who was born on a snowy day, and a younger brother named Ame who was born on a rainy day.The four quietly lived in a corner of a city to conceal the existence of the “wolf children,” but when the wolf man suddenly dies, Hana decides to move to a rural town far removed from the city. And from here on wards her struggle to keep her children safe from outer world who will accept these children in society begins.
The story is very heart warming and a bit emotional throughout the movie which will surely keep your feelings busy while watching it and will let you explore the parental love and the struggles they faces. Characters in this movie are well depicted and easily relatable and doesn’t leave any harsh feelings against them.
The art of this movie is also noticeable even if it doesn’t sparkle like shinkai’s movie but still it’s simple art does it’s job effectively and i’d have to say the art totally justified the plot of this movie.
The run-time of this movie is around 2 hour and and believe me you’d ask for more even after watching it till the end and here i meant to say that it won’t bore you at all so give it a shot.
